Environmental & Sustainability Policy

Policy Statement

Dash Electrical Ltd acknowledge the continuous development in sustainability and environmental issues and the value of taking a proactive and responsible approach to all environmental issues.

We understand and accept our legal responsibilities towards the environment and are not only dedicated to complying with our legal duties but to go above and beyond and surpass the requirements wherever possible.

Dash Electrical Ltd believes that is in the best interests of its employees, sub-contractors, suppliers, clients and general public that it implements control over its environmental position and its negative impacts.

The company will seek to pin point all methods that generate waste, emissions and consumption of resources (energy, materials, fuel and water) and where possible identify the opportunities for recycling. If this is not possible, we will take steps to ensure all waste is disposed of responsibly to reduce the negative impact on the environment.

The core of our environmental management system will be to annually review our business activities and identify new practices in order to promote continual improvement to our policy.

Legal compliance

The current UK government has been committed to the development of a greener more sustainable future. This promise has brought about much needed environmental regulations to which businesses must comply.

Dash Electrical Ltd recognise the importance of these regulations not just within our own business structure but also the wider environment. We identify with the following legal obligations that have been introduced over the years.

The Climate Change Act 2008 which set legally binding carbon reduction targets

The Environment Bill 2021 which seeks to enhance environmental protections

We will identify all our legal requirements and responsibilities and ensure the details of our obligations are met fully. Any non-compliance of our responsibilities will be fully investigated and appropriate action will be taken to ensure no further breaches take place.

Sustainability

Dash Electrical Ltd is dedicated to keeping to the environmental regulations that are currently in place. Our approach to sustainability ensures that best practices are followed regardless of cost and environment. By applying these standards to all our electrical projects, we can meet our clients and our own business vision.

All electrical designs and projects we carry out will be developed to maximise the use of sustainable local materials where they are reasonably practicable. Consideration in the life span of all electrical and construction materials will be taken into account Our company will look at the lifespan and the recyclability of all materials used within each project and the ease at which they may be recycled or disposed of at the end of the materials life.

As a responsible company we are regularly monitoring our working practices and seeking the newest developments in sustainable improvements.

Waste management

Our company looks at waste management as a fundamental priority in which we can reduce the impact of our activities either through the design or installation of our activities. We look to recycling and reusing unwanted electrical or electronics this can help save the planet, boost the economy and improve lives. Not only that, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) contains materials, parts and substances which can be dangerous to the environment and harmful to human health if not disposed of correctly.

As part of our obligation to easing the amount of unwanted electrical waste being incinerated or sent to landfill, we’ll recycle your electrical waste. Together we can stop our resources from being lost forever, save lives and help protect the planet. All electrical waste is taken to a WEEE electrical waste collection site. The initialism (WEEE) stands for waste electrical and electronic equipment and comes under the UK government Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 which are in place to reduce the amount of unwanted electricals that are incinerated or sent to landfill sites.

Where waste production is unavoidable, we have a duty of care as to where we dispose of the waste. The company will ensure all waste disposed of is to a company who hold a valid waste management license and has the ability and facilities to process our waste. Facilities whilst on site will be made available for waste sorting and recycling. All waste will be kept securely to prevent contamination and escape. We will regardless of cost seek to re-use or recycle any waste we produce.

The last resort we shall consider is land fill.

Remember

The environmental regulations are in place for future generations and its our ethical and moral responsibility to safeguard the environment and avoid harm to human health.
